Description

Well the premise of this map is the following - What if after the Sole Survivor destroyed the Institute (in this case) he went on to found more and more settlements and build the Minutemen enough to create an actual state? Enter the United Commonwealth.  PLEASE NOTE: This is a work-in-progress so I'll be adding much more soon.  Enjoy!

The United Commonwealth (RED) - The United Commonwealth formed about three years after the Institute was reduced to nothing more than a smoking, irradiated grave.  A Federative Monarchy by design and often refered to as simply "The Kingdom," it covers most of the greater Commonwealth and is by-far the most advanced in the area.  Place is ruled by some 230-some year old guy who somehow became general of the Minutemen five minutes after crawling out of a freezer or something like that.  The heir is a synth, so Christ knows how that happened.  The King is close with some reporter chick out of Diamond City.  The guy on the radio there also owes His Majesty a couple favors, so it might be safe to say this place controls the information in the greater Commonwealth.  The Minutemen have rebuilt themselves into a formidable fighting force that serves as the Armed Force for the Kingdom.  However, why they haven't been able to use their cowboy hats to kick the Gunners out of Quincy is anybody's guess.  Maybe, as a one Brigadier General Preston Garvey says, 'another settlement needs their help.'

Diamond City is the largest city in the Kingdom and can be said that it's almost the capital.  It would have been a problem for the Kingdom if DC's last Mayor hadn't turned out to have been a synth and f*cked-off.  The ensuing power vacuum did most of the work for the King.  From there it wasn't hard to convince the people of Diamond City to get on board.

BoS Occupation Zone (ORANGE) - Brotherhood of Steel, crazy bastards.  Came to the Commonwealth a few years back for some kind of camping trip and a big scavenger hunt or something but they never left.  Don't really serve much purpose anymore since the rise of the Kingdom, but they manage to keep a steady peace with them.  Despite the peace, nobody really knows why the BoS have opted to stay.  Some people think Elder Maxon is no longer compos mentis, and is just too far-gone to f*ck off from this literal wasteland.  Others believe the BoS are still looking for something outside of the borders of the United Commonwealth.  However, most simply believe the BoS just cling to the coast for the sole right to shout at everyone 'Nanny nanny boo-boo!'

Goodneighbor Collective (PURPLE) - This place has long been known as the ass-end of the Commonwealth if you disregard the Glowing Sea.  Formerly known as Goodneighbor, this when it consisted of a few decrepit shops and red-light places surrounding the old State House.  It was the "Anschluss" of Diamond City by the Kingdom that led Goodneighbor's mayor - A weird addict with a thing for pirate movies - to start conquering all the surrounding useless plots of rubble and partially collapsed buildings just for the ultimate purpose of keeping the Kingdom away.  Plenty of the "Neighborhood Watch" died as they drove most of the Supermutants into Boston Common and out of downtown.  After that, the Collectivists mined literally ALL of their borders with the Kingdom.  Ironically enough, the joke is on them; unbeknownst to Hancock and the Collectivists, the Kingdom wants nothing to do with these rejects.

As previously mentioned, Boston Common is split between the Kingdom and the Collective - A no-man's-land in a no-man's-land, if you will.  Used to have some weird super-mutant problem with the pond and a bunch of mobsters living at Park Station.  All those mined borders between the Goodneighbor Collective and the Kingdom pretty much hit two birds with one stone.

Children of Atom/Glowing Sea (GREEN) - Christ only knows what the hell goes on here on a daily basis.  Most of it is just an irradiated hellscape inhabited by a bunch of hideous, super-evolved monsters.  The places that don't look like a Charles Darwin-Class nightmare are occupied by mental defects who hardly know how to operate a toaster by this point without worshipping it.  These "Children of Atom" have become somewhat militarized since some crazy bastard up in Far Harbor destroyed their main base.  They have long been hell-bent on spreading radiation throughout the Commonwealth.  But whatever they feel like they're going to accomplish by this, the Chinese have already beat them to the punch by over 200 years.  Once again, mental defects.

Monarchy is really not my style but a republic is and so is democracy. I have to say this is pretty impressive but why go for monarchy? Why not a republic instead? Just want to know. Looks impressive.
