Description
This is a ship of my own design, the Russian Imperial Yacht Udacha, named for the Russian word for "good fortune," given as a gift to a good friend of mine, 
Originally, she was an Austrian light destroyer, the Vitzera. However, after the end of the Second Austro-Hellenic War, the Hellenic Royal Empire took much land in the Balkans and along the Dalmatian Coast, including the port city of Dubrovnik. According to the treaty, the Austrians had to surrender any and all naval assets based in the regions given to the Hellenic Royal Empire (or face further war). This included the Southern Adriatic Squadron based in Dubrovnik. The squadron was sized by the Hellenic Imperial Navy, stripped of anything useful, and sold the rest to the Papal Union Navy. After she was towed from Dubrovnik to Athens, the Vitzera began undergoing conversion and modernization processes at Salamis Naval Yard. However, her usefulness was eventually defeated by the Skyron Shipbuilding Program which produced faster, stronger, and less costly destroyers than the Vitzera could ever offer. The Hellenic Royal Empire planned to sell her for scrap, but the Monarch at the time, Leonithas VII, had other plans for the ship. His sister, Theodora, was marrying the newly crowned Tsar of Russia, Peter II. Leonithas VII had the Vitzera stripped down completely to bare bones, her engines replaced, repainted, and remodeled to a state yacht. She was rechristened the Udacha and given to Peter II and Theodora as a wedding present (Hence the name "Good Fortune"). Later, after another yacht replaced the Tsar's personal Black Sea yacht, the Udacha was made a yacht for the extended Royal Family of Russia. She is frequently used by the Tsarevich, Alexei Pyetrovich Romanov, and his wife Illeana.
