New Hanoverian Naval Ensign

This is the ensign of the Royal New Hanoverian Navy.  New Hanover is a kingdom south of the Great Lakes in the North American midwest.  It was founded in 1861 by an exiled member of the Prussian Monarchy, Prince Maximilian von Wittenberge (although the Germans renounce any true connection to him and do not recognize his legitimacy as a royal sovereign), who took advantage of the Third American Civil war to raise an army, conquer himself some midwestern territories, and crown himself King.  It once extended from Wisconsin, all the way to the border of Pennsylvania, across the land of Kentucky, Virginia, and parts of Maryland to the Atlantic Ocean.  However, after the Second Atlantic War, the Kingdom of New Hanover was militarily humiliated, and lost nearly 60% of its total land to the Hellenic Royal Empire and Great Britain, and its naval bases in the Chesapeake, along with their Atlantic Armada.  Since then, the New Hanoverians have rebuilt their Atlantic Armada via the Ontario Canal and Saint Lawrence River.  The New Hanoverians are rather accustomed to quarreling with their neighbors, particularly the New England Protectorate and the Dixie Confederate, as both refuse to trade with them directly.  The only true alliance the New Hanoverians have on the North American continent is the Sierran-Nevadan Empire which has recently illegally occupied the Territory of California.  As of 2017, the current sovereign is Prince Matthew von Whittenberge IV.
